Ace of Swords

Three of Wands_edited.jpg

Beginnings - to start anew.

A gloved hand is clutching a sword by the blade. On the top of the sword is a crown with laurel leaves flowing on each side. The scene behind is of puffy clouds in all different shades pastels. At the bottom of the scene are majestic mountains.

Aces in all of the decks represent new beginnings. Swords signify our mental powers of logic and awareness. Some words associated with this card are: Clarity; Truth; Objectivity; Honesty; Justice.

Interesting that this card popped up on Christmas Eve. Even though not everyone celebrates this day, many do. It is a holiday nonetheless that many people take off. So it is a free day. The work is done and what is left is spending time with friends, family, or peaceful introspection.

With the year nearing its end, it may be time to look ahead as to what lies next. Leave the past behind and all of the baggage that you have dragged around with it. While not always easy to do this (as you can see the hand gripping the sword blade), the Ace of Swords reminds us to use our mental capabilities to move forward in a logical and resolute way.

It may be time to face the truth. What is working for you and what is not. Clear the air and create a new plan.

It has been suggested that New Year's Resolutions do not work and after a month we are back to our old ways. So this year try something new. Make a list of everything you want to let go of. Start small. Maybe you just want to give up potato chips. Start there. Replace the chips with something tasty but not as calorie filled. Or if you are a workaholic, put some fun days on the calendar to look forward to.

No matter what is going on in your life a new beginning is at hand. There may be a challenge ahead, but you are up to the task. Opportunities may be coming your way and with those opportunities a chance to improve the life you have.
