Living MY life for me

All week I have been thinking about living my life. MY life.

What I am thinking is that for a long, long time I have been living my life for someone else. My parents, my partner, my kids, the job, etc., etc. At this stage all is well. My parents are gone. The kids are good. Don't have grandkids. Left standing is, well, me. I actually feel a little lost.

How do I live for myself? Let me restate, how do I live passionately for myself. I get up, I work, I exercise, but more and more it just feels like a boring routine and not something to get excited about.

PHOTO: I love this photo because it shows an elderly woman walking up a hill (photo taken in Brazil). Does she walk this hill every day? Going through her daily routine?

It takes work to put energy and enthusiasm into what you do. Or at least it does for me. I guess my question is: how do I make living for me a natural wonderful thing?

Maybe I am overthinking this. It could be as simple as the word yes. Say YES to life. As I say yes to life, life says yes to me. Accepting where I am is a big deal. After the acceptance comes peace. So even walking up the same hill day after day can be wonderful. The air filling lungs. The sunshine warming the face.

With todays' world of instant access to everything coupled with the Facebook stuff that everyone is posting makes one envious of others. It takes a step back for us to see that our lives matter and that living for ones' self is the best thing to do. Whether our lives are simple or complicated.

I pulled out a Louise Hay card and this is what it says:

I open new doors to life: I rejoice in what I have, and I know that fresh new experiences are always ahead. I greet the new with open arms. I trust life to be wonderful.

Thanks for listening to me ramble. Would love to hear your thoughts. Patrice.
