Be the light...

We all go through tough times, right? I am no exception. During my life I have been all over the emotional map, up and down, sideways and back again, just trying to navigate through my life. A teacher of mine told me once (when I was really freaking out), to sit quietly and look around. To take note of what I saw. Usually I saw that everything was okay.


Our minds take over and we are lost. Lost in a sea of exhaustion. Worry, anxiety, fear! There is a lot of negative speak out there right now. Politics. Gun Violence. Rights being taken away. Everywhere you turn there is suffering and hardship. It is a lot. How can this not make one sad and depressed.


To make matters worse, if you are suffering an injury or a health issue, it makes life so much

harder to handle. Case in point, I was exercising a few days ago and twisted the wrong way and pulled the muscles in my upper back. For two days now I have been down and out.


How are we supposed to cope in this world full of obstacles and misery!?! There is only one way: Be the light we want to see in this world. That is the only way.


Set the example. If we are talking about injury or health, focus on what you can do about the situation. If we are dealing with sadness and loss, then embrace the good while accepting the pain. Look around at what you actually have and be grateful for that.


For me, I am grateful that I have a heating pad. It is soooooo my buddy right now!
